Amy Kind elected new chair of Wisconsin Partnership Program Oversight and Advisory Committee
The Wisconsin Partnership Program is pleased to announce that Amy Kind, MD, PhD has been elected as chair of the Oversight and Advisory Committee. Recommended by Dean Robert N. Golden, MD, Dr. Kind began her new role in July 2018, and follows Patrick Remington, MD, MPH, UW School of Medicine and Public Health Associate Dean for Public Health, who led the committee for eight years.
The Wisconsin Partnership Program extends its deepest gratitude to Dr. Remington for his distinguished leadership. As both a local and national leader in public health, Dr. Remington guided the committee’s work with insightful leadership and expertise. He remains on the committee as a faculty representative.
Dr. Kind is an associate professor of geriatrics and Director of the Health Services and Care Research Program in the Department of Medicine at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health. She has a clinical practice at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital and serves as Director of the VA Cognitive Care Clinic.
Dr. Kind’s work is focused on assessing and improving care for highly vulnerable and disadvantaged older adults, especially those with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. She strives to develop novel ways to eliminate health disparities through innovative research in health policy and clinical programs. Dr. Kind is a national leader in the field of neighborhood-level health disparities. Her expertise and extensive experience in population health and her interest in and commitment to health equity will greatly inform and guide the work of the committee.
