Thanks to a new initiative offered by the Mobilizing Action Toward Community Health (MATCH) group of the UW Population Health Institute, in collaboration with other statewide groups, Wisconsin communities will be recognized for their efforts to improve health for their residents. The ‘Healthy Community’ designation, funded by the Wisconsin Partnership Program, recognizes communities that address healthy behaviors, clinical care, social and economic factors and the physical environment, initiating sustainable solutions to health care challenges. The goal is to recognize and celebrate communities doing good work, whether they be counties, municipalities, neighborhoods or other self-defined, place-based communities in urban or rural areas.
